Spiritual Direction

A safe place to explore what’s stirring.

The Practice of Spiritual Direction

One of my favorite ways to explain what happens in spiritual direction is that I get to “eavesdrop on the conversation between you and God.” I’m not here to fix or advise—I’m here to hold space, ask thoughtful questions, and help you notice what’s unfolding in your soul. Together, we’ll slow down and pay attention to how God might be speaking, nudging, or simply sitting with you.

Who I Walk With

I especially love walking with people who are in the middle of a shift. Maybe you're rethinking the faith you grew up with, wrestling with the image of God you were handed, or just longing for something deeper but not sure where to begin. You don’t need to have clarity to show up. In fact, that’s likely where Spirit’s invitation awaits.

My Side of the Story

As a pastor at UCCMEDFIELD, I’m deeply rooted in the life of my church—but over the years, after moving from place to place, I’ve felt a tug to continue companioning people I’ve met along the way, or others who are simply seeking a safe, sacred space to explore faith. This is a different kind of relationship—an extra one, centered entirely on you and your walk with God.

A Gentle Invitation

I’m training to become a certified spiritual director, and I’m looking for folks who are open to journeying with me as I learn and grow. These sessions give me space to practice the art of listening and presence, and offer you a space to notice what’s stirring.  If something in you feels curious, unsettled, or quietly ready—now might be the right time.

What is a session like?

Sessions are 50 minutes held on Zoom.
  • We'll usually begin with a short check-in, followed by time for conversation, reflection, or prayer—whatever helps you settle into a posture of listening.
    • There’s no agenda or pressure. You bring what’s stirring; I’ll hold space and listen alongside you.
  • $50 per session is my guiding rate, which helps cover my training and time.
    • I offer a grace-based pricing model—please pay what feels right for you. No pressure, no shame.
Please note: if you’re part of UCCMEDFIELD, reach out to me directly on the church's website. We'll schedule differently, since this kind of care is simply part of my role as your pastor.

If you're curious or feeling a tug toward something deeper...

I’d love to hear a bit of your story and see if spiritual direction with me feels like a good fit right now.

It is by being awake to God in us that we can increasingly see God in the world around us.

-Henri Nouwen

God is free to come to us in spiritual disciplines as he wills, not as we demand. But unless we open ourselves to him through spiritual practices, we will miss his coming altogether.

- Adele Calhoun

Spiritual direction involves a process through which one person helps another person understand what God is doing and saying.
